Just go for it and read Brothers Karamazov. My personal favorite and imo the most developed and the most Dostoevsky-y.

My first Dostoevsky was Crime and Punishment. I liked it. I haven’t finished any other Dostoevsky. So I guess Crime and Punishment?

Crime and Punishment. Followed by Brothers K and The Idiot. C&P is a thoroughly modern psychological novel on many levels, written long ago, before psychology existed.

Crime and Punishment. It was the first I read, I was only 15 or 16, and I couldn’t put it down.

Crime & Punishment for me.
Worth doing some investigation into the varying translations as some are considered better than others.

Idk, Notes From Underground was my first and it definitely hooked me in for his writing. I think this is the best place to start as it is short and absolutely fckin spectacular
