Hello! I’m a new reader currently reading Sweet Bean Paste by Durian Sukegawa, and I’m really enjoying it so far (currently in chapter 18). I’m wondering if there are any books that have similar themes to it?
Based on my understanding, the themes in sweet bean paste are about friendship, discrimination and living in an unjust society, acceptance, and finding meaning in the mundane life (?). I also think the genre of the book is Coming of Age? That’s all I can give. Please do suggest books because I’m enjoying it and want to read more books like it, thank you so much!!! 😀
