I know this book has been posted about many times both on this platform and specifically in this channel but I’m posting this now because I just finished it and I know it’s been very popular on TikTok as of recent. With people just reading it for the first time or getting the opportunity to watch the live performance, I’d like to hear what everyone’s thoughts are on it?
People seem to either love or hate this book – I loved it. It was one of the most well written book I’ve ever read (I’m not much of a reader) and I found myself incredibly emotionally attached to the story and it’s characters.
The ending was absolutely crushing. However, I don’t think the author owed us a happy ending. While the story does ask you to suspend your beliefs in some regard, one thing is certain: not all stories, especially those as trauma filled as Jude’s, have a happy ending.
I finished the book last night and I already find myself missing the characters, their stories, and Greene Street. Is it weird I want to reread the book already? Maybe I’ll stop before the car accident?
I don’t think I’ve ever cried that hard to a movie, let alone a book. I don’t think there will ever be a day I don’t think about Jude, Willem, and Harold.
