So heres what i like. A series. Fantasy. Not set in todays world. (Mortal Instruments was okay but the setting threw me). At least mostly following a single MC. Think the early books of Sword of Truth, Wheel of Time or Mistborn.
I have started the faithful and the fallen though it bouncing around and making it difficult to read.
