One of my resolutions was to reduce my TikTok screen time and replace it with reading time. (I spend a lot of time on TikTok).
I tried looking for book recommendations on there, but it seems the most popular books nowadays are very smut and hopelessly romantically troped. While I don’t mind that sometimes, I’m looking for something a bit different.
If the book *must* center around romance, I’d hope to see a lesbian romance as I myself am a happily married lesbian woman.
However, I typically like books that make you want to either cry or question everything. Books where a happy ending is not granted and heartbreak happens. I like messy books that leave you guessing and unresolved, heartbroken, and overall have a darker tone/theme. Romance can be apart of the story, just not the main point.
Lastly… I really enjoy ensemble casts and characters.
For reference: Game of Thrones series is an all time favorite.
