One book I can think of with this type of character is the book The Lovebird by Natalie Brown. I also love watching the misadventures of Rebecca Bunch in the show Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. Both examples unabashedly show their female protagonists’ flaws, but the narrative arc in both brings them around to maturity.
Now that I’m a wisened old woman, there’s a certain nostalgia over the misadventures of my youth. I would like to experience that again, through story. Any genre will do.
