Could be an animal, alien, fantasy creature, object, ethereal consciousness, etc, but I’ve always found books with main characters that are anything other than human to be fascinating! Bonus points if humans exist in the world but only as secondary characters.

The new Dave Eggers book is called The Eyes and the Impossible and it’s written from the perspective of a dog that lives in a park. It’s so beautifully written that I made myself slow down so I didn’t finish it too fast. Do yourself a favor and go get the fancy bamboo edition from an in person bookstore (Amazon will ruin it in the mail).
