I just finished reading Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafón, and – wow, just wow. What an amazing novel. I don’t think I will read anything as complex, tragic, and captivating as it again.
I saw that Shadow of Wind is the first of a series of 4 novels in the Cemetery of Forgotten Books series.
I’m looking for my next book to read and since I loved this story so much, I figured I should give the series a try. However, I’ve seen that they arent really rated that well on goodreads.
Those who have read Shadow of the Wind and have at least attempted to read the next book(s) in the series – are they worth the read and time investment?
To better help figure out if I might like the series as a whole here are my likes and dislikes about the first book (in a vague sense to avoid spoilers):
-Likes: The characters themselves (like as people), The complexity of the story, and the sense of adventure
-Dislikes: How slow and really really descriptive Zafón gets in describing character backstories and other minute details
