I like Kerouac’s adventures very much (On the Road, Big Sur) and his writing is great, incredibly descriptive and creative writing, but it just drones on sometimes for me with the rambling. I have to be in a certain mood to enjoy it.
Maybe there is a similar author that doesn’t drone on as much?

      Henry Miller’s *Tropic of Cancer*.

      Thomas Wolfe’s *Look Homeward, Angel*.

      Jon Dos Passos’ USA trilogy.
