i love reading, i dont care where, when, or what it is im reading but i will find a way to read.
but lately i’ve realized i’ve never really.. read a full book in the library. i’ve heard of people reading book from the library without purchasing them and when they finish they just put it back on the shelf.
is this allowed? am i just slow?

    1. Of course! I do this all the time! You just pck up your book and read!

I even sometimes bring my own books into the library, and sit and read!

If you want to leave with it you have to check it out, never have to “purchase” a book at the library – that’s kinda the point! But yeah you can read whatever you like in the library, just need a library card.

    3. I love spending time in libraries, both to read what is there and bringing my own (school work before, research work now) reading material there to work. I love university libraries in particular (and just go to a local public university), find a study carrel and read or work surrounded by books. It really is one of my happy places.

Lending libraries allow you to borrow the book for a set period. Most public libraries are lending libraries. You will likely need to register and get a library card (which is usually free if you live in the area the library is in).

Libraries that are open to the public, regardless of whether they lend books or not, nearly always have a place for reading or study. Even the Library of Congress allows visitors (by appointment and with permission) to sit and read.
