I used to peruse a really toxic celebrity gossip forum whenever I got bored. It was a passive habit and on some level I knew it was having a negative impact on my worldview, even if I couldn’t pinpoint how.
This weekend I finished *Eileen* by Otessa Moshfegh. Throughout my read I noticed that the main character had the same opinions, rhetoric and mindset as a lot of the posters on that forum.
I have not checked that website since lol
