Non-Western bias historical fiction novels

Looking to read some historical fiction novels from a non-western favored perspective. I really enjoy reading books from all historical times, but sometimes I find the authors western favored narrative so annoying and unrealistic (like in the Fall of Giants for example). I would really like to read a fun and informing book about countries in Africa, The Middle East, Afghanistan is also really interesting, but also WW1, WW2..
