i’ve been trying to find a novel that has some intense female friendships, similar to the anime/manga nana by ai yazawa. i have googled and reddited and i have not been happy with the books i’ve found. i tried happy hour by marlowe granados and i didn’t finish it because it was a snooze fest (i’m sorry ms. granados but it’s the truth). i also tried other people’s clothes by calla henkel and i didn’t hate it but i was not in love with it while reading so i forgot about it and had to return it to the library by the time i was ready to read again lol! i would prefer some sapphic subtext but its not necessary! another one of my favorites that fits in this category is sula by toni morrison, so something similar to that as well
