I’m basically looking for a nonfiction book that’s not too preachy or cliched — somewhere between a warm hug and a practical talking-to — about dealing with low self-esteem, anxiety, and loneliness. I’ve read and enjoyed Maybe You Should Talk to Someone by Lori Gottlieb, and Untamed by Glenon Doyle.

    1. I’d recommend “The Gifts of Imperfection” by Brené Brown. Brown is a research professor who has spent years studying topics like vulnerability, shame, and empathy. In this book, she explores the power of embracing imperfections and vulnerabilities to cultivate a sense of worthiness.
