English learner: book suggestion
Hello! I’m an english as second language student.
I’m estudying english for some time and want to improve my skills in reading, vocabulary etc in 2024, deciding into read a book/month. January brought me to Stephen King’s ‘The Shinning’, and I observed in myself the urge to a diverse species of reading: western literature classics.
I mean, the big ones, such as The Great Gatsby, but not yet The Sound and the Fury.
So, I’d appreciate suggestion on canon books with a simple, fluid language, possible to be read by a B2 interested reader.
Although I love reading Proust, Dostoevski, Cortazar in my language, I might, for now, focus my primary interest in developing my skills in this language, so complex thinkers such those above mentioned I want to be able to read in one year or so.
So, give me suggestion of:
– A Western literature classic book with simple and fluid english (it’s mandatory english to be the first language of the author).
