I really enjoyed the wacky shenanigans the Tang monk got up to and all the different monsters and situations. I was wondering if you guys might have some suggestions for something similar. I was thinking Romance of the Three Kingdoms next, but the lack of mythical fantasy elements is kind of a turn off. I have heard the characters in the story are pretty over the top, like a general eating his eye and such, but I am not sure if that is portrayed in the fiction.
