I’ve heard a lot of good things about T. Kingfisher and wanted to try some of their books. Which book do you recommend reading first and why?
I don’t know what to expect at all, but for reference: I don’t like cringy romance and YA tropes, plot armour (!), when the stakes are too low, lack of (realistic) female/diverse characters, storylines that are dragged out and slow for no apparent reason.
What I do like is thrilling, mysterious books with relatable, witty characters and plots that pull you in and make your mind spin. Books in various genres I’ve recently enjoyed: The Murderbot Diaries, Project Hail Mary, Jurassic Park, Remarkably Bright Creatures, The Yellow Wallpaper, A Marvellous Light, The Darkest Room.
