I have just finished the Wheel of Time series, and I gotta say, it was one of the best series I have ever read in my life. I am still not over it, and can’t bring myself to read another book. Does anybody know books that encapsulate the feeling that the Wheel of Time series gives? I would like it to be as close as possible to the wheel of time, with plans the span across many books, magic, seemingly impossible dilemmas, a young preferably male protagonist, in a fictional world. I do not want books like in which they live in a dystopian society, like the Mistborn series. I would also like for the world to not just be ruled by one king, like Eragon, but so there are different kingdoms, and the protagonist has to rise up to face a threat that was previously not a threat, much like how the dragon had to rise up to defeat the threat of the dark one being free as the seals weakened. Lastly I would love a happy ending. It can be bittersweet lime the Wheel of Time, but please do not let the protagonist die.
TLDR: Need a book as close as possible to the Wheel of Time series, not in a dystopian world, preferably male protagonist, who survives. Would like it to be fantasy, with magic and such. Have already read popular books like LOTR, or Harry Potter, or Belgariad.
Thank you.
