Looking for some some more sophisticated smut ( if such a thing exists)

Hello All,
I have been interested lately in getting into books with a more erotic aspect to them. A lot of my bookish friends tend to really be into Sara J Maas books and other types of YA fantasy smut. They seem like such fun and sexy reads but while I have tried my darndest I can’t really seem to get into them.
I love the dark fantasy/ adventure aspects of the books and can appreciate the plots but, unfortunately, I am a bit of a snob when it comes to quality of the writing. ESPECIALLY when it comes to the smut. If the descriptions are too overt or heavy-handed I cannot help but cringe. It is such a turn-*off* that it takes the sexy fun right out of it for me.

I am looking for something with a slightly more sophisticated writing style. For the sake of brevity I will list my Yucks and Yums when it comes to the type pf book I’m looking for:

Yucks:

* Heavy-handed smut, literary porn. Detail is good, graphic porno detail is unnecessary…
* Rushed romance
* Romance-focused plot, I want some fantasy or adventure, bonus points if its dark
* ‘YA’ style writing

Yums:

* Fantasy/Dark Fantasy/Horror themes
* Good writing
* Steamy, slow burn romance, something that will turn me on but not jump right into porn
* Adventure/mystery focused plot
* Classy erotic themes

If anyone knows of any books that are slow-burn, steamy, sexy, but also have a great plot and writing I would love to know about them! My main genres right now are Horror and Dark fantasy type books (Stephen King, Neil Gaiman, Brom etc…) so I am not really sure where to start. Any help would be appreciated!

**Please suggest whatever you’ve enjoyed that you think MIGHT apply, even if it doesn’t fit all of my specifications. There’s an exception to every rule and I’d hate to miss out on a great read!**
