What If? by Randall Monroe (and its sequel) could be fun for you

Currently I’m reading Matt Parker’s **Humble Pi**.
It goes into real-world instances where ‘oops’ with numbers, math, and engineering resulted in let’s say ‘unexpected’ consequences. For example, a misplaced rig in a Louisiana lake drilled down into a lake mistakenly going through the ceiling of a salt mine beneath it yielding a cascade of consequences.
The author (and his writing) have a dry sense of humor.
