She doesn’t read ever. She’s never read a book in her life! She has a short attention span lol. I want to recommend her some good books that are easy, but keep her intrigued!! She probably wouldn’t like fantasy. It might be too much for her. Nothing too too long. Something YA and fun! She’s always on tiktok and I want her to get into a book, so she will get into reading more often! Thank you!!

The Selection by Kiera Cass. It’s like YA Dystopia meets The Bachelor. It’s not the greatest book ever written but it’s fun.
Why don’t you go through some booktokers and send her videos with book suggestions she might like?
Cinder by Marissa Meyer
James Patterson wrote a YA series based of his novel when the wind blows. The series is called maximum ride. It’s about genetically altered kids raised in a lab who break free. There is also a Manga series adaption.
Not a specific recommendation, but I’ve had success with my younger cousins by texting them something along the lines of, “Hey ____! I was planning to buy you a book but wasn’t sure what you’d like! Are there any movies or TV shows you’ve been enjoying lately?” By doing that, they can feel involved in the process without completely spoiling the surprise. The excitement around reading something similar to media they already enjoy helps too. Best of luck!
Untamed – Glennon Doyle
Island of the Blue Dolphins by O’Dell (YA)
Fun reads: The people we meet on vacation, the Unhoneymooners, beach read, the seven husbands of Evelyn Hugo, next year in Havana
Not YA but Yellowface is an easy read and really hard to put down. Talks about racism in the publishing industry but is also just a funny and entertaining story. Incorporates social media in today’s age quite well too
