The Girl Who Drank the Moon by Kelly Barnhill – it is aimed at a younger audience but definitely still enjoyable as an adult.

You might enjoy Once Upon a Broken Heart by Stephanie Garber.
It is very whimsical with a strong fairy tale aesthetic. A girl strikes a deal with a Fate to prevent a wedding and ends up in a tangle of curses and folktales as she navigates the consequences of the deal.
It’s YA and more focused on the romance than The Night Circus but just as whimsical.

Jonathon Strange & Mr. Norrell
Adding: (hear me out!) The Diamond Age by Neal Stephenson. I had to read it twice it was that good.

You might like Moonlight on the avenue of faith, by Gina nahai and nights at the circus by Angela Carter for similar magical realism. If you like cozy fantasy Emily Wilde’s Encyclopedia of Fairies is a nice whimsical read. And Erin Morgenstern’s newer book, the Starless Sea is also good.
