• Misunderstandings (Hurtful, Hopefully)
• From Low to High Self-Esteem
OR
• Healing From Trauma
• Fantasy Genre
•Main Romantic Character is Considered Ugly, Average, is not Exceptional Necessarily

For reference I’m kind of looking for something like ACOTAR, but I hate that everyone is attracted to Feyre and she’s so badass. I’d rather read something similar where the main person is ugly and average but still overcomes something!

His Secret Illuminations is close! Some fanfics have also hit the spot, but I’ve never read a published book that quite does the trick completely.
