Chess by Stefan Zweig is short enough to finish on a flight. Intriguing espionage book. Also the plot happens on cruise ship so you may find some semblance in scenery lol.

*Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs* urban fantasy about a coyote shifter(Mercy) mechanic, werewolves, fae and all sorts of shenanigans. Doesn’t require too much brain power, quick to get through and really fun!

Two that worked for me were The Real Story by Stephen Donaldson and God is not Great by Christopher Hitchens. The Donaldson takes about 3 hours to read. The Hitchens somewhat longer but the title is good for scaring religious passengers who worry that God might lightning bolt you for your blasphemy.

A historical fiction that you can probably finish in a short time is *Of Mice and Men* by John Steinbeck, if you haven’t read it already.
