I don’t know if asking for any media type is allowed, delete this if not.
I’ve had a lucky life and have never been in this situation, I can’t even imagine staying one second with someone who raises their hand to me, yet many people do. I’d like anything, book, interactive game, whatever to help me understand the mindset

No game will help you understand. Book? Perhaps the Christian bible. At the least, it will give you a great many examples of what women are indoctrinated with that keeps them. Media? I was raised in an society that taught me that if you really love someone, you’ll stand by them, and eventually they’ll realize your true love is the best thing ever, and magically stop being an alcoholic, abusive, monstrously selfish person. Or they won’t, but at least God will recognize your pure faith and love and you’ll go to Heaven while your tormentor burns in Hell.
It’s still there. That conditioning remains for all too many people. You didn’t love enough. You weren’t good enough. You failed to save your true love from the demons that haunt them.
