    I’m heading to a pretty isolated spot on the island of Koh Rong, Cambodia, soon. So what are your favourite the-characters-are-whittled-away-one-by-one-and-turn-on-each-other books? Bonus points for a murder mystery.

    The facilities are going to be pretty basic at the hotel I chose. I’m going swimming, snorkeling, and scuba diving, and I can cycle around during the day. But at night, when the bugs are out, the lights are dim, and nobody can hear me scream, what’s going to put the fear of god into me?

    I’ve read everything by Agatha Christie. Other books of this type include the first *Annihilation* book and *Great North Road*.

    Sci-fi and fantasy are absolutely fine. Thanks.

    1. Try a good short story
      {{Chronicles of a death foretold}}

      It’s a murder mystery that is written in reverse.

      There was a movie called Momento where the guy put tattoos on himself because he could not remember beyond a day but he was trying to decipher this crime it took place and I really had a big impression when it came to this movie.

      Chronicles of a death foretold is written by a master of magic realism who wrote 100 years of solitude which he is well known for and this book although it is a short book is a great book to read and is really fun.

      And those that were a fan of 100 years of solitude will also recognize some of the characters involved in this little short story which I found to be the icing on the cake
