I wanna know what books you’ve read that were so good that when you finished you had to just kinda sit in silence for a moment and reflect. They could be romance books that shattered your heart, or mysteries with a plot twist SO good you never guessed.
I’ve read so many good books lately but it’s been a while since I’ve read a GREAT book. One that I make all of my friends read too.

It’s called Twist and Shout. It is a fanfiction but it’s the only book I’ve read 4 times (and bawled my eyes out every time). It’s just so good. I feel like I was really there. I experienced it, and now I’ve been traumatized by it. Highly recommend
I had to sit with my emotions for a good long while after **Captain Corelli’s Mandolin**. Also **Thud! by Terry Pratchett**. The latter is a Discworld book and I’m genuinely unsure how much it benefits from having read previous books in the series. I want to say it’s not necessary, but I do suspect if you’ve read at least one of the other Night Watch books it’d be much better.
A Little Life by Hanya Yanighara. Opinion is mixed on whether it’s a great book but I loved it and it certainly messed me up / destroyed me. Absolutely shattered by heart I still think about it and had to take some time off reading after finishing it.
Similarly, a slightly less brutal book but still as heartfelt and heart shattering is Anthony Doerr’s All the Light We Cannot See.
The gargoyle by Andrew Davidson, three by Ted dekker
The Song of Achilles destroyed me 🥲
Earthly Powers by Anthony Burgess – doorstop-sized and it creates a whole other world and loads of different strands that all converge. I used to read it during my commute, and when I finshed I was sat on the train, stunned.
Recently ‘A God in Ruins’ by Kate Atkinson. I only have to think about it to want to cry.
Allan Watts “The Book”
