On the first letter, the author describes upon coming across BitCoin, he starts reading a book and then goes on Wikipedia rabbithole. He claims consuming all of this “useless information” is a waste of time.

On the third letter, the author encourages acquiring knowledge, “even if you don’t use every single thing you learn”. He describes how he reads about investing a lot because I never know when I actually will need a piece of advice.

These sound like completely contradictory advice to me. Am I missing something?

    1. I don’t know this book but it’s only contradictory if he’s holding all forms of internet browsing as equal

I’m sure we’ve all had informative Wikipedia deep dives, while some others were less beneficial.

Maybe that’s what happened with the bitcoin one. He just got lost in irrelevant low value wiki webs, and recommends avoiding that.

In other words *stay on mission.*
