I’ve read this book probably half a dozen times over the years, and this one little thing has always bothered me because I have NFI what the character means. Here’s the passage:
“Before being taken down to Wormwood Scrubs, Crispin generously informed Joely that she had his permission to go to other FATE members if she was in need of sexual satisfaction while he was gone. ‘And did she?’ asked Joshua. “**Did she f-ck**,” replied Kenny sadly.”
So, uh… did she, or didn’t she?

“Did she fuck” in the uk means no she didn’t. It’s also sometimes written as “did she fuck as like”

It means “like hell”.
Did the kid clean up his room? Did he fuck! It’s still a mess.

Scots say similar “Am I meant to just sit here on my arse and do sod all? Am I fuck.” One of the streamers I used to mod for was Scottish and when he used this phrase I always laughed. xD
