I’ve been absolutely churning through some seasonally appropriate books so far this month and want to make sure I’m not missing any must-reads or fan-favorites. I’ve thoroughly perused BookTok recommendations, the tables and shelves of bookstores, even other Reddit threads.

What are your favorites to read in October and/or around Halloween? I read any genre including nonfiction.

A Night In The Lonesome October by Roger Zelazny

It’s classic Universal movie monsters trying to either complete or prevent a magic ritual that changes the world and narrated by an intelligent dog. It’s not unlike Nightmare Before Christmas in tone, but the plot is different to explain because figuring out exactly what’s happening and who’s on what side is also difficult for the characters.
