there was a book i read in high school with a yellow cover. it features a woman who can read minds following a vague set of instructions from her old mentor about a specific herbalist tincture to swallow and hypnotizing herself by staring at a dot on a postcard. she is also guided by the god of mice. i cannot remember the name.
