have been pretty distraught lately. bought “my year of rest and relaxation” last month taking the title in a quite different sense and reading it now makes me feel all the more sorrowful. i terribly need to read a GOOD book. lighthearted comedies, comforting stories, wes anderson-esque books, anything. plus i haven’t read many short stories so recommend if you have!

    1. Maybe try some Georgette Heyer? My favorites are The Grand Sophy, Venetia and Cottillion. They were written in the’40’s so they do have some dated tropes. But they are intelligent and positive, so hard to find. I also really loved the new Elizabeth MacKenzie The Dog of the North. Her older book The Portable Veblen was good too.
