I absolutely love used book fairs. As someone who doesn’t care about quality I have filled so many shelves with fair books. The fact that there’s a place you can go twice a year to get good books for like a dollar a pop is insane for me and I am so grateful. I realized recently I don’t have many non-YA books published before 2010, and was easily able to rectify that at my local fair recently.
If you are able to, I highly recommend volunteering to help set up a local book fair! It’s a great place to meet other book fans and see what the trends are for books in the past few months. Plus you get a first look at the stock which isn’t all bad. I just helped set up my fair and I had the time of my life (even if I pulled out my back a little lifting boxes 🤫 )!

Yeah they’re the best. Ours is coming up in just a couple of weeks. They rent out a conference hall at the state fairgrounds and fill it with tables and tables of books, mostly ex library but still in great shape for the most part and no more than a buck or 2 per book and often less than that.
