When I was a kid I loved reading, I lived on a farm and my family used to force me to go outside because I would just spend all day reading. I had a modest library of young adult novels and I would reread them so much I used to be able to remember down to the page and paragraph my favorite excerpts.
As an adult I’ve hardly read much at all, a few memoirs like ‘Heavy’ ‘Liars Club’ and ‘Another Bullshit Night in Suck City’ stick out as rare times I actually wanted to read a book end to end. ‘From the Jaws of Victory’ has to be the first time I’ve ever read and reread a book relentlessly.
As you might imagine it’s a book that focuses on notable moments of military leadership’s lack of competence throughout some the world’s most notable conflicts. It has a lamentable dearth of content regarding Asian and African campaigns but overall is a fantastic read.
I’m curious if anyone’s heard of this book or author? And if anyone could recommend another author or book that reminds them of the same?
