Sorry if my explanation isnt the best, I am not the most literate person
I have never had the attention span for most movies/shows/etc. Its almost rare one catches my full attention.
Once the dialogue feels corny, forced, or unrealistic, I just get a huge turn off. I love media that feels like you are reading or watching real people. Relatable people.
I do not like books that are set in an alternate universe, like advanced future or fantasy
Some examples of recent movies/books that I have been interested in is:
“I’m Glad my Mom Died” – Jennette McCurdy
“Precious” – Sapphire (both movie and book)
“The Florida Project”
“Lolita” (both movie and book)
Thanks so much for your time!!

A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith

I just finished “One Day Everyone in this Room will be Dead” and the characters voices were so authentic!
Eleanor Oliphant is completely fine,
Brit Marie was here,
The Longings of Women by Marge Piercy,
The Language of Flowers,
Miss Bensons Beetle
Eviction by Matthew Desmond. It’s nonfiction but it’s as fascinating as a well-written fiction novel. It’s about the people Desmond interviewed and lived with while doing his PhD work who were all either experiencing or on the brink of eviction. Very, very well done.
