I heard Moby Dick is good but I struggle with finishing very long books, but thinking of giving it a read. Although not a book, I just watched the movie Spirited Away and it’s has obvious themes but not obvious in preachy way, it just takes you into this amazing story where you’re not even thinking about the themes, yet you subtly realize them, especially on rewatch. But then I saw another movie about man vs nature and it was very obvious from the beginning, I guess by the character stating his intentions.
I’m reading Stephen King’s IT and it’s obvious that IT represents us, but that it’s not really said. However I’d love to see more classic examples of subtle themes.
