I am trying to get back into reading. I was an avid reader from elementary to middle school. High school.. I sorta stopped reading for fun because a lot of my honors and AP classes assigned us readings from textbooks and it made me dread reading. College sorta made that dread even worse. I am now in my 20s and want to read again. I was on a reading streak around June 2023 because my job was a very slow office position.. once I had a different job, I dropped reading once again. I don’t have time at my current job but I’d love to get back into reading when I am at home. I have issues with getting bored easily or getting restless because of my anxiety. Does anyone have any book suggestions in the horror genre that aren’t too complicated? Stephen King is definitely out of the question here for me. His writing is amazing but it’s just too much for me.
