I really can’t think of a literary example right now. Only example I can think of is a Turkish drama series that my mother watched where the main character was rejected by a girl and went through a glow-up period (this was all in the first episode) and because people started treating him better he started resenting them and of course gradually ruined his life.
Above is just an example, I’d prefer novels that try to explore similar characters in a more serious way.
