Hello, I love these kinds of books (lol what does this say about me? 😂) and have read the following and LOVED every single one!

    My Husband ~ Maud Ventura
    A Certain Hunger ~ Chelsea G Summers
Notes On A Scandal ~ Zoe Heller

Can anyone recommend something in that vain?!

    Thank you in advance 🙂

    1. When you say female main character, do you mean that the narration follows the woman, or can it include an ensemble cast/antagonist? If the latter is allowed, then I suggest *Audition* by Ryū Murakami. If not, then I can’t think of anything at the moment.

    2. The main female character is pretty reasonable amd likeable, but shes surrounded by deranged people that make themselves her problem. The book is called “girl who saved the king of sweden”

    3. *Boy Parts* by Eliza Clark has the most deranged female main character I’ve read, along with a Certain Hunger (which you mention, yay!). Big TWs, though.

*Liar Dreamer Thief* has a superbly deranged main character (though she’s not as evil as in Boy Parts or Certain Hunger).

If you’re open to a more messy/neurotic type of deranged (rather than nefariously batshit) – *Disorientation* by Elaine Chou

Deranged lady with deranged boyfriend? *A Touch of Jen* (wasn’t AMAZING imo buy it was very original)

*White Ivy* has a very messy protagonist with some morality issues but idk if I’d go as far as to call her deranged. Great book though.

Not read yet but on my list: *Kill For Love* is billed as heathers meets American Psycho so…seems fairly deranged.

    4. The Gretchen and Archie books by Chelsea Cain. Heartsick is the first book.

“Meet Gretchen Lowell, the stunningly beautiful psychopath The Huffington Post called “the most diabolical female serial killer in fiction,” and Archie Sheridan, the police detective whom she caught and tortured…and then let go.”

I finally have the perfect suggestion for a post here! The book you want is called “Good Samaritan” by John Marrs. The primary character is a woman who volunteers at a suicide hotline, and talks people into committing suicide. This book was so fucked up that I needed to take several breaks from its depravity. I enjoyed it, but it was really difficult to get through at a few parts.
