The thing is, I plan to participate in a short story contest and I am in search of inspiration. The limit is 30 pages so I would appreciate if it is of a similar length to that.
I like the stories of Richard Ford, Bradbury, Carver, and Hemingway. Although, of course, I haven’t read everything from everyone. So you can also recommend specific stories from them.
However, I am open to hearing new recommendations that have nothing to do with the names mentioned.
What is your top 5 of the best stories you have ever read?

So Late in the Day by Claire Keegan is a set of 3 short stories, all very good. I particularly enjoyed the last one titled Antarctica.
