Anyone Read “The Fuck-Up” by Arthur Nersesian? I was curious how New York has changed since this book was based in the 80’s

I read the book years ago and was intrigued by the description of New York, in 1980 or 1981. The way the city is described along with 8th Street and St. Marks place. Along with the story and atmosphere of the city. I was curious if anyone has read the book and is familar with St, Marks place in Manhattan. How much that area has changed since the 80′ to present day.
