Hey everyone,
My wife just recently got back into ready, she’s on her fifth book of the year already and is looking for a really intense psychological thriller for her next book. We both just finished The Silent Patient and neither one of us thought it was worth the hype, any recommendations for her next book?
Thank you!

I thought the Silent Patient was a bit of a letdown too. Following bc I love this genre! I just read Killers of the Flower Moon in two days, highly recommend! While it’s not exactly a psychological thriller, it definitely scratched the itch for me! A real page turner and compelling mystery from the first chapter
None of This Is True by Lisa Jewell and Strange Sally Diamond by Liz Nugent were two of my top psychological thriller reads last year.
Have you read any Gillian Flynn? Sharp Objects would be a good fit. If you haven’t already seen the movie, Gone Girl would be good (if you’ve seen the movie you know all the twists already, might still be worth the read but won’t be as engaging).
{{Rebecca}} and {{Gone Girl}} are two of my favorites! (And are generally beloved.)
I couldn’t put down Blake Crouch’s Wayward Pines books
The Last House on Needless Street by Catriona Ward is a slow burn psychological but it gets really good when you can start piecing information together. I also enjoyed Gillian Flynn’s Sharp Objects and No Exit by Taylor Adams.
