hi everyone! my partner is a book lover and i thought that giving him a book for a special occasion would be a great idea! the thing is, i don’t really read books myself and i don’t know where to start.. perhaps something in the fiction or romance genre would work!

simple question – does your partner like uplifting or sad books?
That’s a wide question. It’s asking which movie to get him.
Does your partner have a goodreads account or an Amazon Wishlist or anything like that?
If they read physical books, you could take a picture of their shelves, or even a list of the authors and people could make recommendations from there.
My husband is currently finishing and loving Bullet Train by Kotara Isaka. It’s black humour thriller. There’s a movie (brad pitt) but he said the book is better.
Since you don’t know where to start, I would recommend against just buying him a random book that holds no meaning for either of you. While well-intentioned, if it’s not something he already wants to read it will likely be an imposition, something that he feels like he *has* to read because you gave it to him.
Safe book options would be either a book you love and want him to read (sounds like you don’t have one, but maybe there was one you loved as a kid that was a big part of your life), or a deluxe/special/limited edition of one of his favorite books. Both options are meaningful and would be appreciated by most readers.
Or, if you want to get into reading, you could get him a book for both of you to buddy read together as a way to share his hobby.
Otherwise, a better option might be a set of bookmarks, or a gift card to a bookstore (you know, someplace cute where you can go together to browse and make a date out of it), or even an ereader (you can get used Kindles for under $50).
Have you considered Kissing the Coronavirus?
“She was supposed to cure the Coronavirus. Instead… she fell in love with it.
Dr. Alexa Ashingtonford is a part of a crack team of scientists tasked with finding the cure to the devastating Coronavirus. Little did she know she would end up falling in love with it, in this steamy viral-erotica.”
Here are a cheery few insights into the prose:
“She had listened to her heart, and vagina, and allowed herself to succumb to Covid’s charm. She had ignored what her head had said, the dread, and instead… she had embraced love.”
Or
“And he spun her over, clamping his hands down on her ass, spreading her cheeks wide so he could thrust his warbling member deep into her pocket of ecstasy.
A firm hand cracked against her ass and Covid grunted like a thunderclap. He filled her with love lotion, which oozed out instantly and spread right across the floor.”
I hope this has made your decision quite easy.
