I am in the WORST reading slump I’ve ever been in, I haven’t read a book since May!!!! I need a book that hooks me in right away and KEEPS me hooked.

I love thrillers and anything to do with couples and secrets, romantic relationships that shouldn’t exist, and a plot that keeps me guessing. I also like horror books!

Some books that I liked to give y’all an idea of what to suggest are:
The Kind Worth Killing by Peter Swanson
My Dark Vanessa by Kate Elizabeth Russell
Suffer the Children by Craig DiLouie
    The Housemaid by Freida McFadden

    1. I’m not familiar with the books you’ve listed, so hopefully these recs work out. All very popular and great page turners:

Gillian Flynn books- Sharp Objects and Gone Girl would both be great.

For horror, The Strain. It’s a trilogy, the first book being the best in my opinion.

    2. I was in a huge reading slump for the better part of 2023. The only books that I read consistently to help me out of that slump were ones by Agatha Christie. They’re cozy and comforting, and altogether clever whodunnits. That being said, and based on the fact that I also highly enjoyed The Kind Worth Killing, here are a few that I think are exceptional, and hopefully that you may also find worthwhile:

•The Only One Left by Riley Sager

•The Night Swim by Megan Goldin

•In the Dark by Loreth Ann White

•The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides

•The Butterfly Garden by Dot Hutchison

Much luck to ya! Hope you find your way out of that slump 👍🏻

    3. The Newsflesh trilogy by Mira Grant

Never Leave Never Lie by Thea Verdone

Start with a Slap by Sirena Wise

      For horror:
The Only Good Indians by Stephen Graham Jones

The Final Girl Support Group by Grady Hendrix

The Sun Down Motel by Simone St. James
