Robin McKinley has several fairytale retellings (Skip Beauty though, her first book; it’s very simplistic and YA feeling). Absolutely adore her stories, especially Spindle’s End and Rose Daughter.
Be warned: Deerskin has some “trigger warning” content, but it is an absolutely heartbreaking beautiful story
