I’m very interested in the historical basis of the Bible and how the meaning changes depending on the cultural lens and translation used. I would love some books that talk about that sort of thing, and possibly even (if this exists) an annotated copy of the Bible that discusses the truths/myths of it, the effect of multi-lingual translations, and historical events or figures that can be traced to solid evidence.
I’m looking for true, evidence-based works by historians. Any recommendations?
