I just finished the School for Good and Evil Series! And, it was so good! I’m not sure why this is can come across as an unpopular opinion, as I’ve seen so many posts on reddit and elsewhere hating on the series. This series really appealed to me as I have and always will be a fairy tale lover, since I was a little child. I’m a huge fan of Harry Potter and the combination of a boarding-like school and fairy-tale land was a big plus for me. I feel like every book just got better and better, and each one set a foundation for the next. The character development of each and every character was really well done! I>! hated Sophie in the beginning of the series but I found myself loving her character near the end of the series and rooting for the ship to sail between herself and Hort. Hort was seriously the best character of the series! I nearly had a panic attack in the last book because I thought he died but thank god!!< I’ve literally bought each and every book from the series, I even got the ever never handbook!

I actually read these series like 4-5 years ago but I didn’t end up reading the whole thing since not all the books were out and then the Netflix adaptation came along and I was inspired to re-read the series since I literally forgot everything that happened except a few minor details. It was a bit disappointing to see how much they changed from the book. I understand and relate to the need for multicultural representation but changing the appearance of the main character, when she was described to be the complete opposite in the book. That was a little frustrating to see. AND THEY CHANGED THE MAIN PLOTTT. Anyway, I shouldn’t have expected much. The books are always better than the movies. But I seriously do recommend these series to anyone in a book slump or are looking for books to read after Harry Potter. If you have the same taste as me, you won’t regret it!
