I’ve been in a major reading slump, and I find the only thing getting me out of that is the super kinda Disney/ fantasy feel. I like to stick a little closer to retelling and less on the inspired side. Of course I know most Disney movies are inspired by other much darker fairy tails but I just can’t handle the intensity and emotional energy it takes to read something with death and honestly, sad endings. I adore beauty and the beast, as well as sleeping beauty, rapunzel, the little mermaid or even Cinderella really most of the older disney fairy tales. I tend to stick to closer adaptations over really “inspired” by books. For example the book “beauty” over “cinder” as a retelling of beauty and the beast. Any recommendations would be appreciated!

Maybe [The Goose Girl](https://app.thestorygraph.com/books/2d9d85b9-6993-4ce7-8436-7383a2677eb5) by Shabbon Hale, based on the Brothers Grimm fairytale of the same name?
