I was so, so, SO excited to read this because it sounded really unique and interesting. In the end, though, I think this was one of the worst books I ever voluntarily read. I regret finishing it and wish I had given up when I had my doubts in the first few chapters.
Sometimes, I feel dense when I read things and I admit it can be my fault. If I love a book, I will give it 100% of my attention, but if I am kinda meh, I only apply 75% or so. Murder mysteries/thrillers almost never fail to keep me at 100%, but maybe the reason I hated this book so much is because I found it *so boring*. By the time the ending came around, I had no idea what was happening. I still don’t understand why the real Evelyn was here, or why she was killing people, or who actually died, or how Aiden got trapped in the cycle despite doing nothing wrong. I know I half-assed my reading of this and probably missed critical details but goddamn there was so much happening! I could not follow anything!
TLDR; Total bomb for me, largely my own fault but I have no idea how or why this book ended the way it did. You win some you lose some!
