Hi all. I am looking for novels (or short stories) that depict depersonalization-derealization disorder. I struggled with this disorder as a teen and would love to read about a character who has gone through the same thing. Here are some descriptions from the Mayo Clinic to describe what I’m talking about:
* Feeling that people and your surroundings are not real, like you’re living in a movie or a dream.
* Thoughts about time that are not real, such as recent events feeling like the distant past.
* Unrealistic thoughts about distance and the size and shape of objects.
* Feeling like you’re outside of your body.
* The sense that your body, legs or arms appear twisted or like they’re not the right shape.
I’m not a big fan of John Green, but so far, *Turtles All the Way Down* is the only book I’ve read that seems to get at this. To be clear, I am not interested in reading about characters with DID (“multiple personalities”).
Thanks in advance 🙂

Maybe The Enormous Space (short stpry) by JG Ballard. Or One, No One, and One Hundred Thousand by Luigi Pirandello,
